What do you do?
       Within five days of the birth of your baby, give the baby to a person at any of these Brooklyn hospital emergency rooms or to any Fire House. Tell them this is a Baby Safe Haven infant.

 
       Total secrecy is guaranteed. The police will not be called. The people at the hospital or Fire House will provide a safe place for the baby, giving it medical care and personal attention until it is placed in an appropriate home.


       You will be asked some questions about your baby’s medical history. If you don’t want to stay to answer the questions, you will be given a form which you can mail in later. There is nothing on the form that can identify you. Your secret will be protected.

  • Your baby will be taken care of.
  • You will not have to answer any questions.
  • The police will not be called.
