Has your partner ever . . .

  • Appeared outside of your home, job, or another location when you did not want him/her to be there?

  • Made frequent unwanted telephone calls to your home, cell phone, or job?

  • Followed you?

  • Sent unwanted E-mails or text messages?

  • Left you unwanted gifts or other items?

  • Spied on you?

Follow these tips to remain safer:

  • Keep a log of incidents, including date, time, what happened, and potential witnesses.

  • Record any voicemail messages.

  • Save any text messages or E-mails.

  • Keep any gifts, cards, or letters sent to you by the stalker.

  • Tell neighbors, employers, and friends about the stalking so that they can tell you or the police if they see the stalker.

  • Carry a copy of your order of protection, if you have one, at all times.

If you answered "yes" to any of these questions, your partner maybe stalking you.

The Central Brooklyn Domestic Violence Program (CBDVP) is a collaboration of community agencies, the Kings County District Attorney’s Office, and Brooklyn police precincts.  The CBDVP acknowledges that abuse takes many forms, from physical and emotional abuse to stalking and intimidation.  We reach out to victims soon after an arrest to provide them with early intervention, information, and support.

We understand that certain barriers can place additional stress on a relationship.  Our counselors speak many languages and are sensitive to differences in culture and religion.

The Central Brooklyn Domestic Violence Program is dedicated to providing safety, advocacy, support, and information to people whose lives have been affected by domestic violence.
