The Kings County District Attorney’s Office is concerned about protecting your privacy. Your disclosure of personal information on this website is entirely voluntary, and we will not exchange or share any of your information with outside organizations, governmental agencies or commercial entities.

Information We Request

When you sign up for any of the information services found on this website, including joining our mailing list, we may ask for your name, address, telephone number, and email address. We use this information to send you the latest news and updates from the District Attorney’s Office. We do not share this information with any outside entity.

Use of Personal Information

The Kings County District Attorney’s Office collects personal information in order to deliver information to you in accordance with the service to which you have subscribed.  We do not use your personal information for any other purpose.

Children's Personal Information

In accordance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we do not contact or collect personal information from children under 13. Rather, we encourage parents and children to work together to ensure that a child’s use of the internet is both safe and appropriate. (Please see Strangers in the Net).

Information Security

Strict security measures are in place to protect against the loss of information under our control. These measures include electronic and physical access restrictions. Moreover, financial information such as bank account, credit card and social security numbers are not solicited or kept by the Kings County District Attorney’s Office on this website.

Logging of IP Addresses

The Kings County District Attorney’s Office does log IP address. Your IP address is transmitted to us by your computer. Your IP address is used for computer-to-computer data transmissions and we must necessarily determine your IP address in order to properly deliver BrooklynDA.org content to your computer. We log IP addresses for information security purposes, and to determine the value of our information to the public. IP addresses logged from outside our agency help us determine which particular subjects the public is interested in. IP addresses logged from outside do not tell us anything about your personal identity. There is no personal information collected in our log files.
